Whenever I write my blogs, I ask God to come through me because He knows the message of the day and who needs to hear it. He inspires all of us differently and because He is the Maker of the heavens and the earth and all humans, He knows exactly who requires what and when. He therefore attracts the right people to the message, to encourage and He uses words that will be understood by the reader in their time of need. Isn’t God awesome? He surely is. This is what I believe, hence we have messengers all over the world, used by God to help His people.
The same message may be repeated and delivered by someone else, and it will be heard differently and inspire those in need. This shows that God is unlimited and He uses infinite ways to reach all of us. He knows all of our strengths and weaknesses and thus uses the right platform and sends a message that will impact us.
We can never box God, because our knowledge is inadequate. Even if we want to, He wouldn’t be able to stay in the man-made or preconceived container. He is God after all and He is beyond our restricted minds and intelligence. In this case, never allow anyone to talk you into believing that certain things are beyond your reach, that you can’t achieve your goals or realise your dreams, for Jesus says, “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
“All” is a very big word. According to Noah Wester dictionary (1828), “all,” signifies “indefinitely, a large portion or number, or a great part”. It also means completely or entirely and according to Merriam-Webster (1828), it means, “any whatever.” So, we can have anything we want; so, search the Word of God, for God’s Will is contained in His Word, which means, Matthew 19:26 is God’s Will for you. It is His Will for you to have it all. Jesus says in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”.
I thank the Lord for revelation of His Word and that I can have all the promises in His word. 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God”. God is good all the time and not most of the time but indefinitely.
Paul takes it further in Philippians 4:13 and says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength”. This means, we can do, have and be anything we want to be as long as it is in the Word of God. We have to dig the scriptures in order to know what the Will of God is, the master plan for our lives. God knows everything about us and what we ought to have and He has made it easy by directing us to the manual.
The Bible is your tool of trade, whatever you need to know, do or what you should have and ask for, you simply have to turn the pages. Every organisation has work instructions for its employees to know how to execute every task, there are standard operating procedures and policies to guide them. We as believers also have the instruction book to know what to do at any given time, how to act, how to pray, how to ask.
We should learn to trust the Word of God, otherwise, like Abraham, we produce Ishmael, who was not the son of the promise, instead of Isaac. With the promise, there are multiple blessings for your household and for others. The story is found in Genesis 18. The angels of the Lord appeared to Abraham and one of them said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.”
Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?”
Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” (Genesis 18:10-14).
Sarah laughed because she didn’t believe that with God “all” things are possible. She thought because she had passed child bearing age, there was no way she could have a child but she was mistaken because God considers “All”. Abraham also didn’t quite believe because when his wife, Sarah suggested that he take her maidservant and bear a child with her, he agreed and so was born Ishmael.
There are many women all over the world, who are seeking God for a child and just like Sarah, struggle to believe that they would ever have children but Jesus says to them today, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26). It is indeed God’s Will that you should have a baby because it is in His Word no matter how difficult the situation is. Get hold of the Word of God.
Read the above story of Sarah over and over again to impress your mind to believe. I know how hard it can be to hold onto the Word and sometimes we read it once or twice and it doesn’t really soak in our minds. Read it until it becomes revelation to you or until you get that ‘aha’ moment and you believe it, then it will come to pass.
Never give up. Read these scriptures as well, Psalm 113:9, Genesis 1:29, Exodus 1:19, Deuteronomy 7:14 to boost your faith. This is not to say only women should stand in the Word for childbearing but men too as the challenge can be either way. Society often think that the problem lies with the woman and it is not always so.
The concept of “all” applies to anything that you are believing God to do for you. It can be to pay off your mortgage loan or the vehicle, take kids to university, healing for your body, travel, finances or achieve something in your life; all of these things are in the Word of God. How do I know this, because God says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
God’s plans for us are always good and even when circumstances are bleak and it doesn’t seem that we’ll get out of trouble, the Bible says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
When I write these articles, I know that God is ministering to me also and I have seen His goodness in my life. I have seen Him meet my needs in ways that I would have never thought possible. Whenever I try to direct Him to answer my prayers in a certain way, or try to suggest to Him, He does the complete opposite though in a way that brings me joy and satisfies me greatly.
Everything that I have acquired in my life, is all because of Him. Hang on to God and hold on tight. There is no other way. He is the way.
“I am the way and the truth and the life”, says Jesus
